An elevated cocktail or glass of wine can amplify any dining experience, whether you’re at a restaurant or eating at your own kitchen table. If you’re opting for an at-home Valentine’s Day celebration this year, the cocktail du jour should not be overlooked.
To provide some inspiration outside the basic bottle of wine, here are 9 Valentine’s Day cocktail recipes to amp up your at-home date night. It should leave your sweetie more than impressed, even if you’re just ordering in pizza and drinking on the couch.

.75 oz raspberry liqueur
1 oz. Half & half
Directions: Shake ingredients vigorously, double strain and pour into a coupe glass. Garnish with fresh raspberries.

Ingredients
For honey simple syrup:
½ cup honey
½ cup water
For the cocktail:
1 oz. Fraser & Thompson North American Whiskey
1 oz. Cointreau
1.5 oz. Honey simple syrup
1.5 oz. Orange juice
.5 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 dashes of bitters
Brandied cherries
Directions: For the simple syrup, combine the honey and water in a small saucepan. Bring to just a simmer, then remove from heat and let cool. Store in fridge. For the cocktail, whisk all the ingredients, except the cherries, in a bowl (or use a cocktail shaker filled with ice). Pour over ice. Add cherries.
Celosa Rose Margarita

Ingredients
1.5 oz. Celosa Tequila
1 oz. hibiscus tea
.75 oz. Lime juice
.5 oz agave nectar
2 dashes rose water
Mint to garnish
Directions: Shake all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and strain. Serve over ice and garnish with mint.

1 part pear juice

Directions: Lightly muddle green grapes into a cocktail shaker, saving 2 for garnish. Combine gin, pear juice, simple syrup and lemon juice into the shaker over ice and shake vigorously. 1.5 oz. Mount Gay Eclipse
.5 oz. Lemon juice

Directions: For raspberry syrup: Muddle raspberries into simple syrup and strain. For cocktail: Add all ingredients except soda into the glass and stir. Add ice, finish with soda and garnish with raspberry and/or thyme.
