Baked King Crab – everyone’s favorite crustacean baked in Sriracha lemon butter. The crab legs are juicy, sweet, and ideal for the holidays and other special occasions!

Also, the Alaskan King Crab is one of my favorite seafood, and I especially enjoy the meaty, sweet, and juicy legs.

The time has come to stock up on pounds of red king crab for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at your local Costco.

Baked in Sriracha lemon butter, my King Crab is the best I’ve ever had, and it’s so delightful that you want to eat it all the time!

How to Cook King Crab?

You can make crab legs at home in a matter of minutes. Crab legs are the most common product form, and all of them are pre-cooked and frozen.

A simple recipe that enhances the crab’s natural flavors is all you need. It’s common to boil or steam them and then melt butter over them.

Boiling or steaming king crab, in my opinion, dilutes the crab’s natural sweetness and salty flavor.

The crab’s flavor and aroma are enhanced when baked at a high temperature and in an oven. It also roasts the crab meat and removes the excess water content from the frozen crab meat.

A simple Sriracha lemon butter enhances the crab meat’s natural briny and sweet flavors.

Chef’s Tips for Alaskan King Crab

  • Cooking, boiling, steaming, or baking frozen crab legs will be overly salty.
  • The king crab legs should be cut or chopped into smaller pieces. As a result, they’re much more enjoyable to consume. Dinner parties can also benefit from the shorter segments.
  • To get the most flavor from your oven-baked pie, cut open the top of the crust with scissors, as shown in the illustration. That will allow the crab meat to get roasted in the oven without being covered. Crab legs are also able to sip the butter because of this.

Make a homemade version of surf and turf by pairing this dish with steak. I’ve compiled a collection of healthy and quick recipes to prepare on a weeknight.

Ingredients

  • Three dashes of smoked paprika, save some later for dusting
  • One stick of unsalted butter, softened
  • one teaspoon Sriracha
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley or chives
  • 2 lbs. (1 kg) king crab legs
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Set the oven temperature to 400°F (207°C).
  2. Use a pair of scissors to cut the king crab legs into smaller pieces. To get to the crab meat, cut the portions in half lengthwise. Alternatively, the top of the shell can be cut off to reveal the crab meat.
  3. Bake the king crab legs for 20 minutes in a baking dish. To prevent the crab from drying out, wrap it in aluminum foil.
  4. In the meantime, whip the softened butter with a whisk to make the Sriracha Lemon Butter. Whisk together the Sriracha, lemon juice, and sugar. Set aside.
  5. The butter should be spooned over the crab meat as soon as it comes out of the oven. Garnish with chopped parsley or chives and additional smoked paprika. Serve at once.
